Meet The Artist

Hi, I'm Nick, a Colorado-born artist with over 30 years of experience creating across a wide range of mediums—including epoxy resin, clay, wood, metal, various paints, colored pencils, and graphite. Sculpting with clay holds a special place in my heart; it's the most obedient medium when you're trying to bring something truly unique to life. My formal training at Rocky Mountain College helped shape my artistic approach, but my creativity has always been grounded in real-world experience and a hands-on lifestyle.

My work is heavily inspired by the places I’ve called home. I spent my summers growing up in California and the rest of the year in Colorado. That contrast—between the rugged Rockies and the vast Pacific—sparked a blend of natural inspiration you’ll see throughout my work. From elk-themed tables and fishing net motifs to detailed octopus sculptures, each piece carries a story rooted in place.

In addition to being an artist, I’ve spent decades as a carpenter and builder. I specialized in curved staircases and handrails, engineering stair systems and furniture without blueprints—just raw material, vision, and experience. I’ve built homes from the ground up, installed hardwood flooring, painted, tiled—you name it. That craftsmanship directly influences my art: every sculpture, table, and piece I make is as much about structure and strength as it is about aesthetics.

Outside the studio, I’m an avid outdoorsman. Fishing, hunting, and camping recharge my creative energy. I also collect pop culture memorabilia, build complex LEGO sets (yes, still), play guitar, and can mimic a surprising range of voices—just ask!

Colorado will always be home. It’s where my roots are, where my family is, and where my art comes to life.
